Check your edition: European Game of the Year → any Windows project or Mac; US → bbhost in Other options on Windows. Linux/Deck: bbport accepts any retail region; bbhost supports those two.
Windows
windows-v1.7.7 ·
Playable Hybrid
You need: European Game of the Year PS4 Bloodborne (CUSA03173); game update (1.09) for community patches
Why this port: For European Game of the Year data, bbport (Supermedo) includes its launcher, mouse-camera controls and key remapping in one zip.
Before you start: 64-bit Windows 10 (1903 or newer) or Windows 11; an Intel Core 4th generation or newer, or AMD Ryzen processor; and a graphics card with a current driver supporting Vulkan 1.3, the graphics system used by the port. The game needs about 6 GB of available memory in total, including RAM (your computer's working memory) and Windows' page file (extra memory stored on disk), or 10 GB for 1440p or 4K output. Older Intel Core 2nd/3rd generation processors, such as the i7-2600 or i7-3770, have built-in compatibility support, but may still crash. Processors without AVX, a processor feature the game needs, cannot run it.
- Download the Windows zip from the bbport (Supermedo) Release page and unpack it into its own folder.
- Run
Bloodborne.exe. In Game & effects, select your existing game folder, the one containingeboot.bin(the game's program file). The European Game of the Year edition already includes The Old Hunters. For a base-game setup with your own separate add-on data, choose its folder under DLC folder. - For mouse-camera play, open Controls and turn on Enable mouse look.
- On Play, let Ready check finish and confirm the supported game update (1.09, displayed as 01.09). Choose a 60 frames per second (FPS) target and keep the frame cap at 120 or below. Other game updates run at 30 FPS and do not support the community frame-rate, resolution or effects patches.
- Press PLAY. Once you can move, turn the camera and hear the game, you are ready to play.
If installation or launch fails, start with Troubleshooting.

Playable Hybrid
You need: PS4 Bloodborne, any retail region, with game update (1.09)
Why this port: bbport puts the program and graphical launcher in one Linux program file.
Before you start: x86-64 Linux (for a standard 64-bit PC processor) and a graphics card supporting Vulkan 1.3.
- Download the AppImage (a Linux program file) from the bbport Release page. Right-click it in your file manager, choose Properties → Permissions and allow it to run as a program, then close the window and double-click the file. The AppImage graphical instructions show the checkbox names for different file managers.
- In the launcher, select Game folder and choose your existing game directory. Wait for the game check to finish.
- Leave Mode → Memory and translation model on Auto and select Start.
- Click inside the game to use the mouse camera; F1 releases the mouse. Once you can move, turn the camera and hear the game, you are ready to play.
For a Linux startup problem, see Troubleshooting.

Playable Hybrid
You need: European Game of the Year PS4 Bloodborne (CUSA03173), with game update (1.09)
Before you start: an Apple silicon Mac (M1 or newer), macOS 26 or newer, Rosetta 2 (Apple's translator for Intel-format programs) and Python 3. This route does not support Intel Macs. Before opening the app, follow the user guide's dependency installers: open Terminal from Applications → Utilities, then run its two installer commands one at a time. They prepare Rosetta and Apple's Command Line Tools, which provide Python.
- Download the Mac zip from the bbport (bmy) Release page, open it and drag bbport.app into Applications.
- On the first open, use System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway to open the app, which has not been approved by Apple's app-checking service.
- Under Game, choose your existing game folder. The green check below Game folder shows your edition code and game update; compare them with the download card, then click Play.
- During the first black screen, wait while Game Log gains new lines as graphics are prepared. Once you can move, turn the camera and hear the game, you are ready to play.
If the Mac app will not launch, use Troubleshooting.
Steam Deck

Playable Hybrid
You need: PS4 Bloodborne, any retail region, with game update (1.09)
Why this port: bbport has a graphical launcher with 1280×720 output settings for Deck.
Before you start: Steam Deck's Linux desktop and its driver supporting Vulkan 1.3 graphics. The AppImage is a Linux program file.
- Press Steam → Power → Switch to Desktop, then download the AppImage from the bbport Release page.
- In the file manager, right-click the AppImage → Properties → Permissions, tick Is executable, close the window and double-click the AppImage.
- Select Game folder and your existing game directory. Wait for the game check, then choose 1280×720, FSR 3 (an image upscaling option, which enlarges a lower-resolution picture) and Auto for the memory model. Thin bars on the Deck's screen are expected.
- In Desktop Steam, choose Games → Add a Non-Steam Game to My Library... → Browse, set the file type to All Files, select the AppImage and click Add Selected Programs.
- Use Return to Gaming Mode, launch bbport from Library → Non-Steam and select Start in its launcher. Once both sticks, buttons and sound work, you are ready to play.

Troubleshooting
bbport (Supermedo)
For a black screen, end the game and use Advanced → Clear shader cache to clear saved graphics files; rebuilding them can stutter. Some AMD graphics cards still crash when entering the world. Open the launcher's Log tab and click Copy to share the log text. For an attachment, use last_run.log in your selected Saves folder, or user/last_run.log beside the program if you left that folder unset.
bbport (Mrsuss60)
If the launcher will not open, unpack the complete archive again and run BloodborneLauncher.exe so its bundled Python software is available. For crashes, disable added mods (separate game changes) or patches; keep bblauncher.log from the program folder.
bbport
For a failed game check, use the original game program file with the update shown in the download card and no pre-applied 60 FPS modification. If the game crashes repeatedly, select Mode → Memory and translation model → Old. Auto uses the experimental New mode on AMD cards and Old on others. For an AppImage mount error, see the bbport README fallback.
bbhost
If boss fights become very slow after reloading a save in the same session, try restarting bbhost. If the slowdown remains, send the session log to bbhost Issues. Use run-bbhost.bat on Windows or run-bbhost.sh on Linux/Deck for logs/ (records of that session).
On Deck, if the sticks or buttons still act as a mouse and keyboard, press Steam → Controller Settings and select the Gamepad layout. For Windows RX 580 graphics-card freezes, AMD Linux /dev/udmabuf permission errors or continuing double input, see the bbhost running guide.
If the first summon fails, retry; for continuing failures, see the bbhost online guide.
bbport (bmy)
If Game Log stops gaining new lines for minutes, use Help → Show the Last Run's Log. For slow play, plug in, disable Low Power Mode and try 30 FPS. Some visual effects are missing; see the bbport (bmy) user guide for deeper cases.
When asking on your project's Issues, include its version, operating system, CPU/GPU (processor/graphics card), driver, game version, enabled patches, problem location and log.
Controls
Use the controls for your selected project. L3+R3 means pressing both stick buttons together.
| Project | Movement and camera | Game/settings menus |

See the full keyboard button table for on-screen prompts. | Enter for the game menu; Insert or L3+R3 for settings. Open Controls to rebind buttons or enable mouse look; F7 turns mouse look on/off. Keyboard and gamepad work together. |
| bbport (Mrsuss60) | WASD to move; mouse to turn; E/Enter to interact; Space to dodge. | Esc for the game menu; Insert or L3+R3 for settings. Settings changes mouse options and button bindings; F1 captures/releases the mouse. |
| bbport | Keyboard/mouse or gamepad. | Controls in the launcher for button settings; Insert or L3+R3 for in-game settings. |
| bbhost | Mouse camera, menu pointer and controller support. | F10 or Key Bindings to change buttons; F9 for plugins (extra game features). |
| bbport (bmy) | WASD to move; arrow keys or a controller to turn. Space = × (Cross), Left Shift = ○ (Circle), and 3 = R1; see the full keyboard button table for on-screen prompts. | Enter for the game menu; F1 or L3+R3 for settings. Change buttons in bbport.ini, opened through Help → Show the Data Folder. |
In bbport (Mrsuss60), left mouse attacks, right mouse fires the left-hand weapon, Tab transforms your weapon, F heals and middle mouse locks on. You can reassign these in Settings.
Mods & enhancements
bbport and its branches have built-in frame-rate, resolution and visual-effect settings. bbport, bbport (Supermedo) and bbport (bmy) can keep mods outside the original game folder; choose them in the corresponding launcher.
Upscaling enlarges a lower-resolution picture to balance clarity and speed. For DLSS, NVIDIA's upscaling option, bbport (Supermedo) needs an RTX 20-series or newer card; bbport's AppImage also includes it. On Mac, bbport (bmy) has image-quality settings, including MetalFX, an experimental upscaling option.
bbhost supports ultrawide 21:9 and 32:9 screens, character appearance editing and a way to reassign your character’s stats. Its plugins include a randomizer, which rearranges game content, and boss rush for repeated boss fights.
For the bbhost co-op or invasion route below, both players should choose bbhost. It connects bbhost players only; PS4 friends cannot join.
- On both PCs, keep Live server (thehuntersdream.com) selected in the first setup and enter the game offline first.
- At the title screen, open F10 → ACCOUNT and link an account for that PC. Follow the bbhost online guide → Connecting for account choices.
- Choose Play Online at the title screen.
- For co-op, go to the same area: the host rings the Beckoning Bell and the friend rings the Small Resonant Bell. For invasions, use the Sinister Resonant Bell.
For failed summons, use Troubleshooting.
bbport (Supermedo) also supports messages, bloodstains, ghosts and bell summons. In Online co-op → Co-op pool, choose SuperMedo Server, use Sign up for SuperMedo Server, then enter that account's username and password; no Tailscale software is needed. You can also choose shadNet server with its own account. Turn on Play online, click Test connection and wait for all three results to say reachable, then press PLAY and choose online at the title screen. If a connection check fails, ask in bbport (Supermedo)'s Discord under Community. Both players should use bbport (Supermedo), the same server and the supported game update shown in the download card; once in the same area, use the bells described above. Its The Hunter's Dream co-op pool for joining bbhost players is disabled; an old selection switches back to shadNet.
Which port should I use?
| What matters to you | Choice and trade-off |
|---|---|
| Getting started | bbport (Supermedo) and bbport (Mrsuss60) include their launcher software; bbport comes in one AppImage. bbport (bmy) needs the Mac software above. bbhost asks you to select two paths. |
| Mouse and keyboard | bbport (Supermedo), bbport (Mrsuss60) and bbport have mouse-camera play; bbhost also has a mouse menu pointer and changeable buttons. |
| Smooth play | bbhost can stutter when first preparing graphics. On Mac, busy scenes may fall below 60 FPS; use 30 if needed. |
| Extra features | bbhost and bbport (Supermedo) have ultrawide output and multiplayer; bbport and bbport (Supermedo) offer DLSS. |
Back up your working saves before trying another project. For bbport's AppImage, the default is ~/.local/share/bbport/user/savedata (~ means your home folder). If you selected a different Saves folder in its launcher, back up savedata inside that folder instead.
For bbport (Supermedo), open Game & effects → Saves folder. Find the other projects' locations in bbport (Mrsuss60)'s save notes, bbhost's save notes or bbport (bmy)'s file locations. Keep the installation that plays well for you.
PC port vs emulator
These projects adapt Bloodborne to run on a PC. The game code runs on your processor, while some graphics work still uses technology from an emulator (software that runs games made for another system). bbport and its branches use graphics code derived from shadPS4; bbhost also translates some graphics commands. That mixture is why the directory calls them hybrid ports.
shadPS4 supports multiple PS4 games, including Bloodborne, on Windows, Linux and macOS. Choose a community port for its launcher, controls or enhancements; keep a setup that works well while trying a port separately.
FAQ
Is this an official PC release or a Steam version?
No. These are unofficial community projects for the PS4 game and include no game files. Add to Steam in bbport (Supermedo), or a Non-Steam Game entry for bbport, creates a shortcut to the program you already have.
What is Paleblood, and should I install it?
Paleblood is rewriting the game code, but its own program cannot run the full game yet. Choose one of the playable projects above and follow Paleblood's repository for development progress.
